Helping Paws & Helping Hearts: The Power of Fundraising for Our Local Humane Society

Published on 5 November 2025 at 22:36

Every dollar makes a difference — and when it comes to caring for animals in need, fundraising is one of the most powerful ways our Scotland County community can help.

From vet care and vaccinations to cozy blankets and bowls of food, the Humane Society depends on donations and community support to give every cat and dog the chance they deserve. Fundraising isn’t just about raising money — it’s about raising hope, one tail wag and one purr at a time.

How to Fundraise and Give Back?

There are so many fun and meaningful ways to support the Humane Society!
Here are just a few:

ðŸķ Adoptions and Adoption Events

When you adopt, you’re doing more than welcoming a new family member — you’re also freeing up space for another animal in need. Adoption fees help cover medical care and support for other shelter pets.

ðŸū Community Events

From Christmas on Main to bake sales, photo booths, raffles, and yard sales, our fundraising events are a great way to connect with fellow animal lovers. Every ticket, treat, and t-shirt helps our shelter continue its mission.

💛 General Donations

You don’t have to wait for an event — donations are welcome year-round! Whether it’s a one-time gift, monthly support, or a memorial donation in honor of a loved one or pet, every contribution helps us keep tails wagging.

ðŸĶī Sponsor a Pet

Want to make a difference for a specific animal? Sponsorships help cover the cost of food, vaccines, and medical care for a particular dog or cat until they’re adopted. It’s a wonderful way to see your generosity in action.

Even Host Your Own Fundraiser!

You can get creative, too! Organize a Facebook fundraiser for your birthday, set up a lemonade stand or bake sale, or
collect donations at your workplace or church. Even small efforts add up when the whole community gets involved.
